Woman cop hangs self in Lucknow, no suicide note found

LUCKNOW: A newly recruited woman constable slashed her wrist while talking to someone on video call and then allegedly hanged herself at her rented house in SGPGI police station area.
The deceased was identified as Sarita Nishad (26) of Fatehabad police station area in Agra. She was an under-training lady constable of 2021 batch and was posted at PGI police station since January 11.
ACP, Cantonment, Archana Singh said Sarita was in her room and slit her wrist while talking to someone on video call. “She then hanged herself from the ceiling with a dupatta tied around her neck,” she said. She said no suicide note was recovered from the room.
“The SGPGI police informed the family of the deceased about the incident and sent the body for autopsy,” she said.
