Punjab: Husband booked for murder in Ludhiana's Samrala

LUDHIANA: Police on Monday booked a person for murder after his wife died at a hospital on Sunday night after being beaten up by him at Lalori Kalan village near Samrala town in Punjab's Ludhiana district.
Charan Singh — the father of deceased Jasveer Kaur — told police that his daughter was married to Jagtar Singh of Lalori Kalan village about 24 years ago.
During a domestic dispute on May 13, Jagtar grabbed her by the throat and threw her down.
He added that the accused beat her severely and when the villagers gathered at the spot, he fled.
The complainant told police officials that Jasveer was first admitted to Khanna Civil Hospital and then to a private hospital in Doraha where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday night.
Later, Charan Singh informed police about the matter.
