Uttar Pradesh best investment destination, rapidly leading in economy: CM Yogi Adityanath

GORAKHPUR: In the last five years, the state government succeeded in providing a safe and secure environment to investors and hence UP has become a favorite destination for investment and is emerging as the leading economy of the country, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday. The CM was speaking after launching GIDA's development projects worth Rs 143.69 crore and handing over land allotment letters to investors in Gorakhpur.
Before this, he launched 61 development projects worth Rs 144 crore at Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Park in Gorakhpur. "The state is rapidly moving towards achieving PM Narendra Modi's target of making India a $5 trillion economy by 2024. This would be made possible only when the state's economy becomes a $1 trillion dollar economy. Over Rs 1,000 crore investment is proposed by new investors which will create about 2,700 new job opportunities," he said.
GIDA was established 40 years ago, however, development started only when BJP formed the government in the state.
The first term of the Yogi government saw investment proposals worth over Rs 3 lakh crore on the ground.
On June 3, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for investment projects worth more than Rs 75,000 crore in the state's third ground-breaking ceremony.
Slamming the Opposition and appreciating the people's mandate in favour of positivity, development and nationalism, CM Yogi said, "BJP won all nine seats in Gorakhpur, this proves that people are in support of our development-oriented approach and have rejected negativity and leaders with mindset of creating divide on basis of caste, language or religion."
Today, Gorakhpur is known for the fast pace of development and collective efforts are needed to make it better for future generations, he added.
"Development is realized in the true sense when the voice of people is heard and justice and security is ensured to every individual," Yogi said. "We are working to ensure there is no water-logging in Gorakhpur during the monsoon season," he added.
