Mysuru: Several activists have demanded action against
Bajrang Dal accusing it of giving arms training and trishul deeksha to its activists at a camp in Ponnampet,
Kodagu district, recently. The organisation denied the charge that it gave any arms training.
The camp, Bajrang Dal Shourya Prashikshana Varga, was held between May 5 and May 11.
According to the activists, arms training and weapon distribution were held in an educational institute. They urged the Kodagu police to initiate action. Kodagu SP
MA Aiyappa was not available for comment.
Bajrang Dal’s South Karnataka convenor
Raghu Sakaleshapura, who was one of the camp directors, said there was no arms training given to anyone. The trishul is not meant for an attack, he said. He said the camp is organised every year in different parts of the state.
