Temperature may rise by 2-3 degrees by Thursday
AHMEDABAD: The city was the hottest in the state on Sunday with mercury touching 43.7°C. The maximum temperature was 2.1 degrees higher than normal while the minimum temperature was 1.1 degrees higher, at 28°C. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature on Monday is likely to be around 43 degrees. ‘No large change in maximum temperatures during next 3 days, thereafter rise by 2-3 degrees during subsequent 2 days very likely,’ mentioned the forecast. The southwesterly winds over the region provided some respite to citizens as afternoons and evenings remained breezy on Sunday. Apart from Ahmedabad, Rajkot also recorded 43.7°C, followed by 43.3°C in Surendranagar, 43°C in Gandhinagar, 42.9°C in Kandla, and 42.4°C in Deesa.
