The NSE Nifty index closed 60.15 points up at 15842.3, while BSE Sensex ended up 180.22 points at 52973.84.
On the other hand, .(down 2.97 per cent), .(down 2.59 per cent), .(down 2.09 per cent), .(down 1.74 per cent) and .(down 1.55 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
