Man held for raping, impregnating minor

Ludhiana: The police arrested a 25-year-old factory worker for raping a minor girl for three months and impregnating her. The matter came to light on Saturday when the girl complained of stomach pain and her family took her to hospital for medical examination. The family lodged a police complaint.
In her complaint, the 15-year-old girl, three months ago, when she was alone at home, her neighbour barged in and raped her. He also threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone about it. The girl said after that he sexually assaulted her whenever he would find her home alone.
Sub-inspector Baldev Raj, who is investigating the case, said a case under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been lodged against the accused. The police arrested the accused on Sunday.
