Even as the Congress' three-day Chintan Shivir concluded in Udaipur, the BJP started its two-day Chintan Baithak on the outskirts of Ahmedabad on Sunday with a focus on the forthcoming assembly elections in Gujarat.

The meeting is being attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, party national general secretary BL Santosh, Gujarat co-incharge Sudhir Gupta apart from all senior leaders of the party's state unit.

Gujarat BJP's media coordinator Yagnesh Dave told ET that the meeting will review the works done by the state government and the party at various levels and also lay strategies for the election. Union minister and BJP Gujarat in charge Bhupendra Yadav is expected to attend the meeting, Dave added.

BJP's Gujarat president has officially set a target of winning all the 182 assembly seats in 2022 and the party is putting a major thrust on micro-management of constituencies down to the booth level.

Sources told ET that both the government and the party functionaries made detailed presentations on the works in their respective areas.

BJP is staring at anti-incumbency as they have been in power for more than two decades in the state with the pandemic creating havoc in the last two years.
