Britney Spears and Sam Asghari announced that they have lost their "miracle baby."
The couple posted a joint statement on Instagram on Saturday confirming that they had lost their first child just one month after announcing that they were expecting.
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy," the statement reads. "This is a devastating time for any parent."
The couple acknowledged that while they "should have waited to announce until we were further along" in their pregnancy journey, they were "overly excited to share the good news" with the rest of the world.
They added that they will continue trying to expand their family and are leaning on each other for support.
"We are grateful for all of your support," Britney and Sam concluded. "We kindly ask for privacy during this difficult moment."

The couple, who got engaged last September, announced the singer's pregnancy in April.
Britney is already mom to two sons, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, who she shares with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.
