Elderly couple dies as truck hits 2-wheeler near Samrala

Ludhiana: An elderly couple was killed after a truck hit their two-wheeler near Samrala on Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Raghuveer Singh, 75, of Chankoiya village, near Doraha, and his wife Ranjit Kaur, 70.
Police said Raghuveer, along with his wife, was going to Baghoor village near Samrala. When they reached near Chehlan village on Ludhiana-Chandigarh Road, a speeding bus coming from Ludhiana side hit their two-wheeler from behind. The collision tossed the couple into the air, killing them on the spot. The bodies were taken to a government hospital for the post-mortem.
Cops said they have impounded the bus and detained its driver. TNN
