NOIDA: The
Greater Noida Authority has prepared an outlay of Rs 93 crore for the construction of three foot overbridges, development of nine smart villages and over 50 other maintenance and development related works. It will also renovate an entrance gate near the Tigri roundabout and build a reinforced concrete drain to resolve the persistent waterlogging woes at Haldauni Mor.
According to officials, the three foot overbridges (FoBs) will be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.7 crore at Surajpur-Kasna Road in front of the district collectorate building, near Jagat Farm and Ishaan Institute and in front of Kailash Hospital near the Pari Chowk. While the authority was so far trying to build the FoBs on a BOT (built, operate and transfer) basis, it has decided to go on its own now.
Tenders have also been floated to develop nine hamlets, including Yusufpur Chak Shahberi, Aminabad,
Chipiyana Khurd, Cheerasi, Astauli, Sirsa, Chhapraula,
Sadullapur and
Jalpura, into smart villages. Another Rs 1.27 crore has been allocated for the installation and maintenance of synthetic athletics tracks at Greater Noida Sports Complex. The authority will spend Rs 5.05 crore on the construction of an RCC drain from Haldauni Mor to Hindon while Rs 7 lakh has been apportioned to repair and beautify the entrance gate on the 60-metre wide road near Tigri Rotary.
CEO
Surendra Singh said instructions have been given to expedite the works related to the maintenance and development of sectors and villages on priority. When approached, AK Arora, the general manager of the authority, said all the works would be started after the tendering process is completed.
