AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) filed a police complaint on Monday after a fake notification related to the announcement of Class 10 and 12 general stream examination results was circulated on social media platforms.
The fake letter stated that the results will be announced on May 17, Tuesday and the students will be able to see their results on the board’s official website starting from 8am.
Dinesh Patel, secretary of GSHSEB said that some miscreants had modified the board’s official press statement announcing the Class 12 science results date. “When it came to our notice that a fake letter was being circulated on social media, we investigated it and found that the letter was fake. We have issued an official statement clarifying that it is a fake letter. We have also filed a complaint with the cyber crime police department,” Patel told TOI.
On May 12, during the press meet of Class 12 science results, the state education minister Jitu Vaghani had announced that Class 10 (standard maths and basic maths) and Class 12 general stream results will be announced in the first week of June. The minister had said that results are being prepared at present and the process will be completed soon. Around 9.5 lakh students of Class 10 and 5.5 lakh students of Class 12 general stream had taken the exams this year.
