Thiruvananthapuram: Two people died in different accidents in the district, one in
Balaramapuram and the other one in Neyyattinkara, on Sunday.
Vinosh, 32, of
Tharayil house near Edamanssery, Kollam, died after the motorcycle in which he was travelling collided head on with a lorry at
Kannaravila near Nellimoodu at 11am.
Vinosh was an officer of the Indian Air Force, and was in the city to attend an NCC camp. When reached Kannaravila, he lost control of the vehicle and collided with the lorry.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but his life could not be saved. The
Kasaragod registered lorry came here to deliver rice at a wholesale shop in the city and to carry a load back to Kasaragod. Police have registered a case for causing death by negligence and arrested the lorry driver.
The other accident at Mangalathukonam in Balaramapuram at around 1.45 am claimed the life of Lijeesh, 29, of LG Bhavan near Nellivila. He was travelling from Balaramapuram to Vizhinjam. According to police, the two-wheeler in which he was travelling hit behind a lorry that was parked beside the road.
He was rushed to hospital but could not be saved. Lijeesh was a lift operator at the Medical College Hospital, and was returning home after attending a function. TNN
