The court has made chief secretary of UP and director general of police responsible for the supervision of the sealing process and the works done by district administration, police and CRPF for the execution of its order. The court said that safety and conservation of the area will be personal responsibility of the district magistrate, commissioner of police and CRPF commandant.

The court of civil judge (senior division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar ordered the district administration, police and CRPF to seal the Gyanvapi mosque’s area where a 'Shivlinga' was found during the survey of advocate commissioner.
An advocate from the Hindu side, Madan Mohan Yadav, claimed that the shivling is Nandi faced.

Supreme Court to hear tomorrow, May 17, plea seeking direction for stay on survey of Gyanvapi Mosque complex, which was adjacent to the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi. A bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud will hear the plea of Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee.
We spoke with all stakeholders and reached a consensus that it's important to follow court's order. We also cleared people's misconceptions, worked on confidence building. The 3-day survey has ended. We thank the people of Kashi for their cooperation.
