Agro Phos(down 4.96%), Sikko Industries(down 4.18%), & Chemicals(down 1.65%) and Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.38%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 60.15 points up at 15842.3, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 180.22 points at 52973.84.
Eicher Motors(up 7.62%), Enterprises(up 3.92%), NTPC(up 2.84%), UPL Ltd(up 2.65%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.35%), State Bank of India(up 2.33%), Maruti Suzuki(up 2.05%), Bajaj Auto(up 2.02%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.91%) and Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.87%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, UltraTech Cement(down 2.97%), Shree Cement(down 2.59%), Asian Paints(down 2.09%), ITC(down 1.74%), Grasim Industries(down 1.55%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.47%), Tech Mahindra(down 1.15%), Nestle India(down 1.12%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.12%) and Infosys(down 1.02%) closed in the red.
