Kerala: 2 injured in freak rail accident at Thampanoor central station

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two railway staff got injured at Thampanoor central station in a freak accident on Monday night.
Railway police officials said that the accident occurred around 7.45pm. Amrita Express was being brought from the yard to the platform when an engineer and an apprentice reportedly fell on the track.
One of them got his leg amputated while the other person sustained injuries to his leg. Railway authorities said that both the injured persons have been taken to the hospital.
The authorities said that more details are being awaited on how exactly the accident happened and that at present the priority was on giving the best possible medical care to the injured staff.
