Thiruvananthapuram: District collector Navajyoth Khosa has announced yellow alert in the district for Monday and Tuesday as the central meteorological department has informed that the isolated places in the district will receive rain ranging from 65mm to 115.5 mm. People living in low-lying areas, river banks, and hilly areas prone to landslides have been advised to be extra vigilant in the wake of heavy rainfall from the past two days. She also added that the preparations for conducting relief camps in the context of Covid should be carried out in the manner prescribed by the State Disaster Management Authority Orange Book 2021. The residents of the area which had undergone flood or landslide in the previous year and those living in areas identified by the Geological Survey of India as hazardous or uninhabitable, local bodies and government agencies are asked to take precautions.
