DC visits hospital after several women develop infections

Vijayapura: Deputy commissioner Vijayamahantesh Danammanavar visited the district hospital on Sunday for a review after reports that several women who had undergone cesarean section in the facility over the past fortnight had developed infections.
Danammanavar sought information from district surgeon Dr SN Lakkannavar. As many as 245 cesarean sections were conducted between April 30 to May 13 and some of the women were infected during the operation. The deputy commissioner assured patients that they would get the best treatment and care.

He also instructed doctors to ensure that no repeat of such an incident happens in the future.
He also took stock of the medicines and reviewed sanitation on the hospital premises.
