BELAGAVI: Fifteen MBBS students of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS) have been booked after a clash between two student groups over college elections.
The clash happened on the night of May 4 on the campus. It came to light later when the BIMS director filed a case against 15 students on May 6 at the APMC police station. According to a police source, the students' election was on May 5. The previous night during the clash, one student was injured. He was treated at a local hospital and later shifted to Udayapur in Rajasthan, his hometown.
Based on a complaint filed by BIMS director in-charge, BS Viveki, police are probing the case. "No arrest has been made yet. We will take the students into custody after completing our inquiry," APMC police station PSI Manjunath Bajantri said.tnn
