Noida: The district legal service authority (
DLSA) on Saturday organised a national
Lok Adalat and resolved 1,06,640 cases. The Lok Adalat somewhat eased the burden on the district court, which had around three lakh pending cases.
Cases and disputes related to civil issues, petty crimes, family, property, labour laws, bank loans, revenue and even motor accident claims were heard.
The officials said that the two parties do not need to pay any court fee in Lok Adalat. The court fee, if they had already paid, are returned to them. The court does not punish the people involved in the cases. The peaceful resolution of cases also shades loads of the district court.
DLSA secretary
Jaihind Kumar Singh said while judicial officials resolved 34,363 cases, the revenue courts disposed of 36,442 cases. Cases related to banks, the power department and traffic challans totalled 35,835. The DLSA had resolved 58,652 cases in the first national Lok Adalat on March 12. Four
Lok Adalats are held annually in the district. It had also engaged 250 para-legal volunteers (PLVs) to educate people for their participation.
