Rape accused who escaped re-arrested

Vadodara: An accused in a rape case who had escaped from the custody of Vadu police in Padra taluka of Vadodara on Wednesday night was nabbed from Chhota Udepur by the Local Crime Branch of the Vadodara police on Saturday.
The accused Akshay Baria was arrested by the Vadu police for aiding an accused in a rape case. He was brought to the police station on Wednesday. In the night, Baria sought to relieve himself and was taken to the lavatory in the police station.
While returning from the lavatory, Baria pushed the policeman with him and ran away from the police station. Since it was dark outside, the policemen were not able to chase him immediately.
Different teams were formed by the district police to trace Baria and nab him. LCB sleuths received information that Baria was seen in Piplej village near Chhota Udepur town. A team of policemen rushed to the town and brought him back. He was handed over to the Vadu police.
