HYDERABAD: TRS ministers and top cops were conspicuous by their absence while receiving
Union minister
Amit Shah at Begumpet airport and other places in the city on Saturday, once again highlighting the ongoing tussle between
BJP and the pink party.
Amit Shah arrived by a special flight at the Begumpet airport on Saturday afternoon. It was an official tour as the home minister straight away went to Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) at Ramanthapur to inaugurate National Cyber Forensic Laboratory (NCFL).
When Union home minister is on an official visit in the state capital, as per MHA's guidelines on ‘courtesies to be extended to VIPs during their state/UT visit, an officer deputed by the state government should receive and see off the Union cabinet minister. However, as a tradition, state home minister,
DGP and police commissioner concerned receive the Union home ministerat the airport. However, on Saturday, no ruling party leader was present at the airport. Hyderabad joint commissioner (Traffic) AV Ranganath along with deputy commissioner of police (
DCP), North Zone, G Chandana Deepthi received Amit Shah. From BJP, Union minister G Kishan Reddy along with other senior BJP leaders were present.
While state home minister Mahmood Ali was with KTR in Nalgonda district, DGP M Mahendar Reddy was in Sircilla reviewing the new district police headquarter’s construction plans. Hyderabad police chief CV Anand was also reportedly occupied with some official work. No TRS leaders were present to see off the HM at the RGI Airport in the night.
