Boy receives vitamin overdose

Thiruvananthapuram: A four-year-old boy has been admitted to the district hospital here after receiving the Vitamin-A overdose from the Kulathoor primary health centre here.
The Asha worker, who made the mistake of giving the double dose to the boy , was later suspended from the duty.
The boy had severe vomiting and developed uneasiness soon after taking the vitamin dose.
He is still under observation at SAT hospital.
On May 11, four-year-old Nivin came along with his mother Manju, a native of Karode, and twin brother for receiving vitamin-A dose orally at the hospital.
Instead of giving the vitamin to both the boys, the Asha worker, by mistake, gave the same dose to the same boy.
