BJP leaders plan to mobilise grassroots

Bhubaneswar: BJP general secretary Odisha in-charge D Purandeswari and state BJP president Samir Mohanty attended a meeting of party’s frontal organizations — youth, women, OBC and ST/SC wings — here on Saturday. They brainstormed strategies to intensify political activities at the grassroots to make up for the loss in the lean period due to Covid in the past two years, party insiders said.
State BJP president Samir Mohanty said the meeting was mainly a stock-taking exercise and meant to make plans for future political activities. The issues that the frontal organizations would focus on were discussed. Besides, each wing will work harder on further popularising the welfare works of PM Narendra Modi. Before this, a core committee of the state BJP comprising office-bearers and district observers and presidents was organised on Friday. After two years of virtual meetings, the BJP organised the meeting in the offline mode for the first time. tnn
