Berhampur: Police on Friday arrested a 34-year-old man for duping a woman with the promise of providing a job in the railways by claiming to be a railway employee.
The accused, identified as Ganesh Kumar Hota of Bila Sahi, Gate Bazar, convinced the victim to provide the job of accounts section officer in the railways to her younger sister, who was searching for a job, the police said. The accused had demanded Rs 60,000 from her to initiate the process, they said. “The police seized cash of Rs 40,000, a motorcycle, two mobile phones and several incriminating documents from his house,” said Bishnu Prasad Pati, SDPO, Berhampur. tnn
