Coronavirus pandemic live updates: Maharashtra reports 255 new Covid-19 cases, one death

Tamil Nadu on Sunday logged 30 new Covid-19 infections, pushing the tally to 34,54,621 till date. The death toll remained unchanged at 38,025 with zero fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours. (PTI)

A total of 175 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recoveries in the state to 77,31,467 so far, the department said in a statement, adding that Maharashtra is now left with 1,518 active cases.

Maharashtra on Sunday reported 255 fresh Covid-19 cases and one fatality, taking the tally to 78,80,840 and the toll to 1,47,855, the state health department said. (PTI)

Five more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 35,612. The ministry reported 1,340 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,410,499.

Director of health G Sriramulu said the number of active cases in the Union Territory went up to 15. There was no recovery of patients in the last 24 hours and total recoveries remained at 1,63,835, he added.

Puducherry reported three fresh cases of Covid-19 on Sunday taking the overall tally in the Union Territory to 1,65,812, a senior government official said. (PTI)

According to the news agency, newly elected South Korean President Yoon Suk-Yeol offered on Friday to supply North Korea with Covid-19 vaccines and medical equipment. "The government is actively reviewing to officially propose to North Korea holding a working-level meeting at the beginning of the week," a senior South Korean official said as quoted by Yonhap.

In order to help the neighbouring country curb the spread of the disease, South Korea intends to hold talks with North Korea next week to discuss Covid-19 relief measures, Sputnik reported. (ANI)
