450 schools yet to start UDISE survey; deadline extended

Ludhiana: The last day to submit the Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) survey was Sunday, but now the date of submission has been extended to May 25, as 450 of private schools are yet to file the survey in the district.
According to MIS wing, out of 2,893 schools of the district,450 of private schools are yet to file the survey,1,360 schools have already completed the survey and 1,085 schools are under the process.
Hence, the education department sought extension by ministry of human resources development (MHRD) and now the last day is May 30.
Deputy manager from MIS wing (Punjab) Rajvir said, “On request, we have received an extension from the ministry of education and the new date for submission is May 30. However, we have kept the new deadline for schools to upload survey as May 25, as we would take another five days to analyse the information. We would be issuing notification on Monday for the extension.”

Vishal Mittal, district coordinator (MIS and planning), MIS wing with district education office said, “Earlier, the data was uploaded at e-Punjab portal from where it used to be shared with the government. But now, since the schools have been asked to directly share the data on the website of government of India, schools are not familiar with the new portal and are thus facing technical issues, which were addressed during the webinar.”
According to Mittal, for timely submission, various messages have been sent to school heads. “We have been helping school heads with technical assistance too. Action will be taken against defaulter schools,” added Mittal.
