Mandya: Youths in a Mandya village celebrated actress
Sunny Leone’s May 13 birthday by organising a blood donation camp, inspired by the actress’ charity endeavours like helping orphan children.
This may well be among the more unusual ways of celebrating a one-time adult film star’s birthday. Leone is known for her steamy appearances in Bollywood films.
Going by her fans’ words in Kommerahalli village, the
Jeevadhare Trust’s focus seemed to be on
Leone’s social work. The youths erected large cut-outs of Leone in the village, cut a cake, burst crackers, distributed food and organised a camp that collected 39 units of blood.
Trust president
Nataraju said: “We are really happy that blood was donated by the youths in the village for the birthday celebration of Sunny Leone.”
The youths said they were the fans of Leone and had formed an association in her name that organised charity events. The organisers said that Leone should be respected for her work of helping orphan children. “We are attracted and inspired a lot by Leone's charity. We formed the Sunny Leone’s Fans’ Association in our village and will continue charity work in her name. This is the second time we celebrated the birthday,” said
Shridhar KJ, a youth.
Manu, president of Satanur gram panchayat, said that the whole village took part in the celebration.
“We are proud to recognize the good deeds of the actress,” he said.
