KOTA: A court in Bhawanimandi town of
Jhalawar district on Friday sentenced six persons to life in jail for killing two persons over enmity five years ago in Gangdhar police station area of the district. However, one of the convicts died during trial because of Covid. The court also slapped fine of Rs 20,000 on the convicts.
Additional district judge (ADJ) convicted six persons identified as Dhara Singh (33), Bherulal Rathore (28),
Vikram Singh (38),
Pradhan Singh (40), Bahadur Singh (50) and
Sodan Singh (36), all residents of nearby villages in Gangdhar police station area of Jhalawar district, to life in jail for murdering two persons over enmity in November 2017, public prosecutor (PP) at ADJ court Lokesh Gupta said.
Sodan Singh, Bahadur Singh and Dhara Singh and others had killed Govind Singh (45) and Kalu Singh (48), residents of Hasamdi village under Gangdhar police station, by running a pickup over them while the two were riding a bike between
Rojhna Ka Kheda and Nipaniya village on November 14, 2017, he said. One of the two deceased Govind Singh and convict Bahadur Singh were tangled in an enmity, he added.
On the day of crime, the convicts kept an eye on the movement of Govind Singh and while he was riding on bike with Babulal, they reached the spot on a pickup and hit his bike and ran him over until two died, the PP said. tnn
