Nagpur: The Nagpur city (NMC area) reported five new Covid cases in the last 24 hours out of the six cases reported in the 11 districts of Vidarbha region. Chandrapur district reported one new case. For the first time in two weeks, no recovery was reported in the entire region. This took the number of under-treatment patients to 36. Nagpur district accounts 17 of these, followed by five each in Chandrapur, Wardha and Buldhana. Washim and Gadchiroli have two active cases each. Yavatmal, Akola, Amravati, Gondia and Bhandara continued their zero-Covid run. In all, 2,779 tests were conducted in Vidarbha in the last 24 hours. The number of daily tests continues to be under 3,000. Nagpur district conducted 516 tests, out of which 440 were from Nagpur city. All 17 under-treatment patients in the Nagpur district are from Nagpur city now and all of them are in home isolation. Vidarbha’s recovery rate is constant at 98.3%. As no death has been reported in the 13 days of May, the case fatality rate is also unchanged at 1.69%. Amravati: The district reported no new case on Friday. Of the 146 samples tested in last 24 hours none turned out to be positive. Yavatmal: The district continued to maintain its Covid-free tag on Friday as there was no positive patient reported for in last 24 hours, keeping the toll unchanged at 1,803. The administration received 426 test reports and all of them were found negative. Chandrapur: Detection of solitary case in Chandrapur took the Covid active figure to five in district on Friday. The lone patient was detected in Chimur out of 392 samples tested during last 24 hours. There was no recovery or death reported during the day. The Covid caseload has crawled up 98,940 while the total recoveries remain at 97,395. Toll remains unchanged at 1,567. Wardha: No new positive case was reported from 75 test reports on Friday, while caseload, recoveries and toll remained unchanged at 58115, 57,147 and 1,351 respectively. Currently, 5 are active positive under treatment in district.
