GURUGRAM: A 38-year-old man allegedly stabbed his elderly parents to death with a pair of scissors in Faridabad on Friday. According to a relative, the man is an alcoholic and used to have frequent arguments with his parents.
He has been identified as Jitender (38). Police said he divorced his wife a few years back and was staying with his parents in Hanuman Nagar area of Faridabad. Jitender was unemployed.
In the early hours of Friday, Jitender again had an argument with his parents over consumption of liquor and allegedly picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed his mother Champa (62) in a fit of rage.
His father Beer Singh (70) tried to save Champa and was stabbed too. Jitender allegedly left his parents to die and fled.
Later, his brother-in-law Surender Singh, visited the house and found Beer and Champa lying in a pool of blood. He informed police and took them to a nearby hospital, where they were declared brought dead.
Singh told police Jitender was an alcoholic and used to quarrel with his parents. “We don’t know what happened last night and why he killed them,” he said.
Based on his complaint, a case was registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Arms Act at Kheri Pul police station of Faridabad on Friday.
ACP Mahender Verma said they had recovered a pair of blood-stained scissors from the house. “Prima facie, it seems the scissors were used to stab the elderly couple. A police team is trying to track the accused and the exact cause of the murder will be known only after his arrest,” the ACP said.
Police are also scanning CCTV footage of the area to find out at what time the accused left home. According to them, only three people were inside the house, out of which two were killed and the third on the run.
Earlier on April 8, a 66-year-old woman, the wife of a retired Railways official, was stabbed to death by her software engineer son in New Colony area of Gurgaon. The accused was jobless and separated from his wife.
The accused used to live in a rented house close to his parent’s house.
The meals were provided by his parents. His mother was returning home after delivering food to him when they had an argument. The man stabbed his mother with a kitchen knife and fled from the spot.
