Maharashtra on Sunday reported 255 fresh Covid-19 cases and one fatality, taking the tally to 78,80,840 and the toll to 1,47,855, the state health department said. A total of 175 patients were discharged during the day, raising the number of recoveries in the state to 77,31,467 so far, the department said in a statement, adding that Maharashtra is now left with 1,518 active cases.

Western Railway to get 12 new AC train services from tomorrow
Western Railway (WR) will introduce 12 more services of air-conditioned trains between Churchgate and Virar from Monday. WR already operates 20 services and from Monday, the number will rise to 32.
A WR official said, “These new AC local services will run from Churchgate to Virar at 9.27am, 12.34am, 3:44pm, 6.11pm and 23.23pm and between Andheri-Virar at 8.50pm. Whereas, 5 additional AC local services will operate between Virar and Churchgate in the up direction at 7.57am, 10.58am, 2.09pm, 7.48pm and 9.48pm. There will be one service from Bhayandar to Churchgate at 5:02pm.”
Palghar: Bride, 3 others injured after marriage pandal collapses
A bride and three other persons were injured after the pandal set up for a mass marriage event collapsed in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Sunday, police said. There were several people, including guests, at the event in Aina village of Dahanu taluka where 125 couples were to tie the knot, they said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP Shiv Pratap Shukla on Sunday hit out at the Shiv Sena, alleging that the Uddhav Thackeray-led party has deviated from the path of his father and founder Bal Thackeray.
He was reacting to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's remark that "the BJP wears fake Hindutva burkha and our Hindutva is Gadadhari".
Shukla said, "What Uddhav Thackeray is talking about! He must think about the principles for which Balasahab Thackeray was known for. Is there even a part of it in Uddhav Thackeray's blood? If it is about blood then I think he has dried up his blood only because he wants to remain in power."

A social media post allegedly shared by Marathi tele-serial actor Ketaki Chitale criticised Sharad Pawar’s appearance and made several accusations against him, including about “hatred for Brahmins”.
She was arrested based on a complaint by an NCP functionary. Chitale was initially detained at Kalamboli by the Navi Mumbai police at around 5 pm, and the Thane crime branch later arrested her at 6 pm, confirmed Laxmikant Patil, DCP, crime.
At the Kalamboli police station, NCP activists tried to throw ink on the actor.
Mumbai: See-through fences set to replace BMC garden walls
MUMBAI: BMC has initiated a unique move to replace walls around open spaces like parks and gardens with see-through fencing. The civic body has broken down walls at Mahalaxmi racecourse, Pramod Mahajan Udyan at Dadar and Mrudang Acharya Playground at Mahim as a pilot project. Builder booked for construction noise past 10pm
In a first, a criminal offence was registered against a city developer on Thursday for violating Bombay high court’s order to avoid construction work after 10pm. The FIR was registered against the developer, supervisor and crane operator at Santacruz police station after locals complained about the din.
A police visit to the construction site of Aum Developers revealed not only was work going even at 10.40pm, but cement was spilled on 17th Road at Santacruz (west) and heavy contruction equipment was placed on the road without any light reflectors to warn motorists.No arrests have been made in the case yet.
