Items worth Rs 6 lakh stolen in three areas in Pune

PUNE: Cash and gold jewellery collectively worth Rs6 lakh were stolen in the Vadgaon, Sinhagad Road, Katraj and Kondhwa areas on Thursday.
Vadgaon resident Sanjay Pawar (42) had gone out when the thieves broke the locks of his flat in the early hours of Thursday and made off with the booty, including Rs1.85 lakh cash, gold and silver jewellery collectively worth Rs4.61 lakh.
Assistant inspector Shailaja Jankar of the Sinhagad Road police is investigating the case.
In Katraj, some men broke into the flat of Bhimrao Dhamal (70) and stole Rs40,000, along with gold, silver jewellery collectively worth Rs1.1 lakh. The theft happened on Thursday when the Dhamal family had gone for a ‘yatra’, the Bharati Vidyapeeth police said.
In Kondhwa, a few men stole gold and silver jewellery worth Rs75,000. Feroj Bagwan (44) of Shivnerinagar has filed a complaint with the Kondhwa police.
