PM: Schemes will end appeasement politics

BHARUSH/SURAT: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday said 100% coverage of government schemes by reaching out to every poor beneficiary will be an endgame for politics of appeasement and discrimination.
"Our government is committed to ensuring 100% coverage of beneficiaries of all government schemes for the poor. Once this difficult goal is achieved, no scope remains for any politics of appeasement," he said while addressing 'Utkarsh Samaroh' in Bharuch through video conference. The event was organised to celebrate 100% coverage of four Gujarat government schemes for widows, poor, aged and the destitute in Bharuch district.
Modi said 100% coverage under government schemes brings in a psychological change among the needy. "This change is extremely important as it instils confidence among the beneficiaries that they have a right over the money for which they don't need to run from pillar to post or stand in long queues. It also sows seeds of being duty-bound towards the nation."
