UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has died at the age of 73. He held the position of President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi since November 3, 2004.

Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan became the first President of the UAE in 1971. After which he died on 2 November 2004. He held this position until the last day, after Sheikh Khalifa became the second President of the UAE and the 16th Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Khalifa was the eldest son of his father.
