Less than 300 Covid cases for fourth straight day

Gurgaon: The city reported 262 new Covid cases on Thursday. This is the fourth consecutive day the city has been reporting less than 300 daily cases. The city recorded 279 cases the previous day. At present, Gurgaon has 1,200 active cases.
With a dip in cases, the daily positivity rate also declined to 7.5% on Thursday from 7.9% recorded a day ago. Hospitalisations, too, continue to be very low.
According to the data from the health department, 13 Covid patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals.
On Thursday, 3,495 tests were carried out in the district. Gurgaon reported 5,894 cases in April and 2,034 cases in March. So far this month, a total of 3, 386 cases have been reported, the department said.
“The active cases are coming down in the district and the rate of hospitalisation is low. We are expecting the cases to decline further by next week,” Dr Virender Yadav, chief medical officer of Gurgaon, said.
