‘Waste still being burned in Dugri park’

Ludhiana: The members of the council of engineers (COE) have complained aganst burning of organic waste in a public park in Dugri. They have complained about the matter to officials of Punjab Pollution Control Board. The complaint was filed on Wednesday late night. A copy has been sent to the officials of Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) for action, as the area falls in their jurisdiction.
The president of COE, Kapil Arora said one of the active members of Public Action Committee has shared the video where organic waste was set on fire in a park situated at 200' Road, near Jain Mandir Chowk in Dugri. He alleged that this has been done either by gardeners/sweeper/or concerned persons who are given charge of maintaining the park. tnn
