LUCKNOW: Jailed Samajwadi Party MLA Azam Khan was brought to Lucknow on Thursday to appear before the CBI court in a case related to anomalies in appointments to 1,232 posts in UP Jal Nigam under the SP government. However, he was sent back to Sitapur jail in the afternoon after the court deferred hearing in the case due to incomplete documentation by the prosecuting agency. After being produced before the special CBI court of Manoj Pandey, Khan and other co-accused said they had not been provided the complete copy of the chargesheet, and as such, charges could not be framed against them. The court fixed June 7 as the next date of hearing. Besides Khan, co-accused Santosh Rastogi, Hemant Kumar, Ajai Yadav and Girish Chandra were present. Some of the accused were represented by their lawyers.
