The tourism of WA got revived after getting $70 million boost

The tourism of Western Australia got revived after boosting $70 million into it. This effort was declared as part of the State Government’s 2022-23 State Budget.


This fund will be made use behind the development of local businesses and other plans to give further confidence to the Western Australia tourism, and to occupy the highest place of the $195 million ‘Reconnect WA’ package and help aviation sector, interstate tourism, working holiday makers and foreign students.


The Tourism WA budget will aim on the following:


• $31 million to catch the attention of other crucial events
• $21 million to boost marketing, international as well as interstate
• For a National Park Tourism Experiences Development package, $18 million assigned


WA is quite hopeful that $31 million will help in drawing mega events, development of the NRL State of Origin, Wallabies vs England Rugby Union test match and the English football events.


WA Tourism Minister Roger Cook said that blockbuster events attracts maximum tourists and brings in millions of dollars. He also added that around Australia and the world, we all have been spreading word that WA is open for business as well as tourism.


The financial support includes $20 million for a Major Events Fund, comprising business events, and an additional $10.7 million for the ‘Event Tourism’ budget.


For the state government, destination marketing is yet another target to accomplish with $21 million promised.
