Vadodara: Large balls of metal fell at four locations in Anand district on Thursday evening. The balls are believed to be parts of a rocket. The balls fell in Anand, two in Bhalej and one in Khambolaj. One of the balls damaged the tin roof of a house in Khambolaj. Panicked villagers informed the police at all these locations and personnel rushed to the sites to ascertain what had transpired. Anand superintendent of police Ajit Rajian said that barring the ball in Khambolaj, others fell in farms or open land. “Nobody wasinjured due to the spheres,” he said. Rajian added the spheres had been sent to the forensic sciences laboratory to ascertain their composition. Reports of similar incidents from elsewhere indicated that the spheres could be part of a rocket. They are used to carry fuel and other material in rockets. Last month, debris believed to be from a Chinese rocket had fallen in a village in Maharashtra.
