Thiruvananthapuram: Human Rights Commission has ordered a probe into an incident in which a physically challenged sick person was pushed into a police jeep by
Balaramapuram sub-inspector.
Shamnad, a resident of Valiyavila near Thirumala, also suffered injuries as his head hit the foot-rest of the jeep as he was pushed into it.

According to a report, it was on a complaint filed by a woman, the Balaramapuram sub-inspector and three other police officers assaulted
Shamnad on October 20, 2021.
In the report submitted before the commission, it was stated that Shamnad was constructing a house at Thempammoodu with Rs 4-lakh aid received through the Life Mission scheme. The woman had alleged that she had acquired a stay from the court against the construction, and the police officials reached the spot to examine it.
