The NSE Nifty index closed 25.85 points down at 15782.15, while BSE Sensex ended down 136.69 points at 52793.62.
On the other hand, .(down 4.40 per cent), .(down 3.90 per cent), State Bank of India(down 3.89 per cent), .(down 2.96 per cent) and .(down 2.65 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
