JAIPUR: The Bhilwara police investigating the murder case have arrested one accused and detained minor on Thursday and have identified three others for the murder. Mobile internet services remained suspended for the second consecutive day again in Bhilwara after a 20-year-old youth was murdered. By and large city remained peaceful amidst tight security.
According to the police, one Adarsh Tapadiya was murdered outside a sweet shop under the Kotwali police station area. People rushed Tapadiya to the hospital where he later succumbed to injuries. The murder rekindled simmering tensions in the city which has already been on the edge after multiple suspects had thrashed two youths in the city's Sanganer area on May 4. Then too, the district administration had moved quickly to suspend mobile internet services.
The city was limping back to normal before Tapadiya's murder evoked fears of uneasy calm.
"One person has been arrested for murder and two others were detained as they are minors. We have also identified three others for the murder and have also got CCTV footages of the murder," said Adarsh Sidhu, Superintendent of police, Bhilwara while talking to TOI on Thursday.
"The situation is completely under control and there is no untoward situation," he said, adding that the police were keeping a close eye on the situation.
Till late afternoon, the district administration and police officials were trying to placate the family and relatives so that a cremation could take place soon. District collector Ashish Modi too had requested people not to pay attention to any rumour. "We have imposed a suspension of mobile internet services. The situation is normal in the city," he added.
