MUMBAI: Eleven men, including the owner of an imitation jewellery making factory in in Navghar, Bhayander (east) have been arrested for allegedly beating a worker to death over suspicion of theft. The deceased identified as Krishna Tusamad, 36, was accused of theft by his employers Chandicharan Bind, 33, and Dilip Bind, 44. Tusamad’s family alleged that the Bind brothers forced him to accept that the jewellery items missing from the workplace were stolen by him. When he refused, they allegedly assaulted him with iron rods, and other co-workers joined. Tusamad sustained serious head injuries and was moved to the hospital where he was later declared dead. CCTV images obtained from the premises helped Navghar police to zero down on the suspects. The accused have been booked under IPC sections for murder, and have been remanded to police custody by the Thane court.
