Rajkot: Emboldened by the
Punjab victory and weak
Congress in
Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind
Kejriwal promised a sea change in education infrastructure in the state’s government schools while accusing
BJP of neglecting these facilities for 27 years.
Kejriwal landed in Rajkot on Wednesday morning and addressed a public rally in the evening. He also promised to take senior citizens from Gujarat to Ayodhya in an AC train with accommodation facilities in a hotel at Ram Janmabhoomi site. The Delhi CM also accused the government of being a dummy in the hands of state BJP president CR Paatil.
“Government schools in Gujarat are in a pathetic condition. BJP has not been able to provide proper infrastructure and education for the last 27 years,” he alleged.
Accusing BJP of being the party of “rich,” Kejriwal also promised free electricity to farmers of the state and assured that no private school will be allowed to increase the fees drastically. “Vote for us only to shatter BJP’s ego. If we don’t do peoples’ work, throw us out,” Kejriwal told the audience. Accusing BJP of using intimidating tactics against AAP, he urged people to vote for his party and witness the change. “The AAP is a party of educated, honest and patriotic people. I urge the people to give us one chance, at least to break the ego of the BJP. If you do not find our work satisfactory, you are free to choose any other party afterwards,” he added.
