KOTA: Jhalawar sadar police and district special team (DST) foiled a conspiracy to murder former Bhawanimandi municipality chairman and arrested a local history-sheeter and a Uttar Pradesh-based sharp shooter and recovered three loaded pistols, six magazines and 38 live cartridges from their possession on Tuesday night.

Ramlal Gurjar, police had been keeping a close eye over the suspects and arrested Neeraj
Jaiswal, alias Montu (31), a local history-sheeter and resident of Bhawanimandi police station area, and a sharp shooter, hired from Muzaffarpur in UP, identified as Rohit
Koli (23), while the two were riding on a motorbike in Sarar police station area on Tuesday night, Jhalawar ASP Prakesh Sharma said on Wednesday.

Gurjar, who is also a history-sheeter, had been in rivalry over land and land encroachment issues. Jaiswal had attempted to shoot Ramlal around 6 months ago but failed. Since then, Jaiswal was attempting to shoot Ramlal, the ASP said. Jaiswal hired sharp shooter Koli and the two had been keeping an eye over Ramlal’s location for the past few days, he added.
In another case, Jaiswal and Koli had on April 13 kidnapped a close associate of Gurjar, identified as Mahesh Kumawat from his SUV at gun point, and demanded ransom of Rs 1 lakh, he said, and added police also detained two minors on Tuesday night from Bhawanimandi in connection with this case.
