Duo booked for illegal occupation of 3 flats

Ludhiana: The Dugri police have booked two men for cheating and criminal trespassing as the accused have allegedly illegally occupied three flats issued by the Punjab government to the victims of 1984 riots. The FIR has been lodged against the accused Saif Ali of CRPF colony and Harsheela of unidentified place.
Harmeet Singh of CRPF colony in his complaint lodged on April 28, 2021 said that the Punjab government had allotted flats to the victims of 1984 riots in CRPF colony of Dugri area. The accused have possessed at least three flats in the colony illegally. Investigating officer Sub inspector Jaswinder Singh said that the police have lodged an FIR under sections 420 (cheating) and 447 (punishment for criminal trespass) of IPC against the accused after an enquiry.
