Biker molests lone woman cyclist on road in Pune's Moshi

PUNE: A motorcyclist molested a 36-year-old woman by touching her inappropriately, after finding her riding a bicycle on a deserted road in Moshi around 5.30am on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on the service road between Kranti Chowk and Sardar Chowk in Moshi.
The woman later approached the Bhosari MIDC police and filed a complaint.
The police have registered a case under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
An officer from the Bhosari MIDC police told TOI that early on Tuesday, the woman was cycling alone at the spot. “After noticing her, the motorcycle driver started following her. He went near her and all of a sudden, touched her in an inappropriate manner. The woman immediately raised an alarm, following which the man drove away from there.”
The police officer added, “The spot was deserted at the time of the incident, with no witnesses around to see the crime. There are also no closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at places nearby. Our probe is on.”
