5 masked men rob finance firm staffer of ₹4.39 lakh

Ludhiana: Five masked men barged into Fino Payments Bank branch in Sherpur, Moti Nagar, on Wednesday afternoon and robbed a staffer of Rs 4.39 lakh. The staffer, identified as Ujjwal Kumar, 24, said one of the accused was carrying a pistol that he pointed at his forehead and the others were armed with sharp-edged weapons.
Ujjwal told police that around 3pm, he was in the office when the five men came in. “One of them pointed a gun at me and asked for cash. I did not resist as the accused threatened to shoot me,” he added.
Moti Nagar SHO inspector Nardev Singh said, “CCTVs are installed inside the finance firm premises, but these are password protected and can be scanned only after approval from senior officials. The head office has been approached for access to the CCTV footage. However, a nearby CCTV captured the accused who came on two motorcycles.”
The inspector said on the statements of Ujjwal Kumar, a case has been registered. He added that no security guard was hired by the firm.
