Cyclone Asani Live Location, Asani Cyclone Landfall May 12 Updates: According to the latest update by IMD, the Depression (remnant of cyclonic storm ‘ASANI’) over coastal Andhra Pradesh weakened into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area over Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 0830 hours IST of today, the 12th May, 2022. It is likely to weaken further into a Low Pressure Area during the next 12 hours.
The IMD has predicted light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Rayalaseema. Sea condition is likely to be rough over westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours and improve thereafter.

IMD has predicted squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph is prevailing around the system center and adjoining westcentral Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours.
Sea condition is likely to be very rough to rough over westcentral & adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during 12 hours and improve thereafter.
Total suspension of fishing operations over the westcentral Bay of Bengal and over northwest Bay of Bengal during next 12 hours. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the westcentral Bay of Bengal along and off Andhra Pradesh and Odisha coasts and Northwest Bay of Bengal on May 12th.
Odisha special relief commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena has told ANI that Cyclone Asani will start to recurve from Kakinada area of Andhra Pradesh again to the Bay of Bengal by midnight. He said there will be no major problems in Odisha as wind speed will be around 30 to 40 kmph.
Due to Cyclone Asani, the highest rainfall in Odisha was recorded in Khordha district followed by Gajapati and Naigarh, said special relief commissioner Pradeep Kumar Jena. He said Ghasipura block in Kendujhar district recorded 72.3 mm rain, Kanas block in Puri district with 56 mm rain. (ANI)

Coastal areas of Odisha and West Bengal may also receive rainfall. In the next 12 hours, squally winds are likely to prevail in Krishna, East and West Godavari districts, and Yanam in Puducherry. Sea conditions will be rough, and fishing activities remain suspended.
